From Glasgow Airport, where car hire is available 1 hour 45 mins,85 miles.
Rail:
Taynuilt station 9 miles which run services to Glasgow also links with the Caledonian sleeper Tyndrum to Euston London.
Directions:
From the A85 at Taynuilt take the B845 signposted Kilchrenan, on passing the Kilchrenan Inn continue for exactly two miles, where you will see the sign for Collaig House take this right turn follow the road for approx. 500 meters where you will see the house at the top of the rise.

Taynuilt
Small village with great grocers providing speciality produce, butchers newsagents, post office, hairdressers and antique shop,
Rosie’s Tea room is well worth a visit.
Bonawe Iron Furnace: an Industrial Heritage site, founded in 1753 with production ceasing in 1876.
Loch Etive Cruises
Provides an opportunity to access areas which are inaccessible by road, habitat of Golden Eagles, seals and other wildlife.
Inverawe Smokery
Royal warrant to the Queen for supplying smoked fish.Tours of the smokery held Monday to Friday.Nature trails and children’s play area plus tearoom.
Cruachan Power Station
Go on a tour inside the mountain to see the working of a hydro-electric power station.
Inveraray
Inveraray is a classic example of an 18th century planned village built on the site of a ruined fishing village in 1745 by the Duke of Argyll.
Inverary is a set piece of Scottish Georgian architecture on the edge of Loch Fyne.
Inveraray Castle home of the Duke of Argyll is a splendid 18th century mansion, with pepperpot towers and delightful decorative interiors, well worth a visit.
Inveraray Jail is an award winning attraction showing conditions in a 19th century prison.
Arctic Penguin is a three masted arctic schooner moored in the small harbour providing maritime exhibitions. Maritime Museum is a moored sailing ship.
Oban
The solidly Victorian setting of Oban enjoys a superb setting-the island of Kerrara to the Southwest providing its bay with a natural shelter-distinguished by McCraigs Folly a granite amphitheatre on the hilltop of the town.
This is the gateway to the highlands and islands and gets very busy in the summer.
It’s a useful location for wet weather activities and shopping and good place to eat fresh seafood.
Oban Distillery
Theres been a distillery in Oban since 1794.Take a tour and see how the coastal location affects the taste of the whiskey.
Puffin Dive Centre
For an underwater view of Scotland’s marine wildlife try a shallow dive with an underwater instructor.1.5 miles south of Oban
Oban Rare Breeds Farm
Children can meet, feed, stroke and touch the llamas,alpacas,rabbits,donkeys and many more rare breeds of animals especially designed for children.There is also a woodland walk and picnic areas.
Isle of Mull
Forty minutes by ferry from Oban, Mull is the largest of the Inner Hebrides.The main settlement is Tobermory which is most attractive with its clusters of brightly coloured houses.
Torosay Castle is a stately home of 1858 with Italianate gardens and is well worth a visit.When you get off the ferry you get the miniature railway which takes adults too.
Iona
A magical island known since the 6th century as the cradle of Christianity in Scotland, access is by a short ferry trip from Fionnphort on Mull.

Golf
Taynuilt has a 9 hole golf course amidst the wonderful backdrop of Loch Etive and Ben Chruachan.
Walking
There is no shortage of walking opportunities locally to suit all abilities including Glen Nant nature reserve & lochside walks at Glen Etive where Eagles & Ospreys can be seen, also for the more adventurous Ben Chruchan (3695ft) is one of eleven local Munroe’s over 3000ft within 1hrs drive.
Biking
Mounting biking & road biking with numerous routes straight from the house including a 65 mile circular route around the banks of Loch Awe and many more.
Fishing & Boating
Loch Awe is renowned for brown trout, pike, perch & salmon, permits can be arranged.
Boats can be hired in Dalavich whether for fishing or just cruising up & down Scotland’s longest fresh water loch. At 26 miles long, to one of the most photographed castles the ruins of Kilchurn Castle and many islands on loch Awe we’ll be more than happy to arrange this for you.
Canoeing
With the River Awe and the Falls of Lora, on our doorstep for the white water enthusiast, there is also open water canoeing on the local Lochs. We also offer drying room facilities.
